LEBm
The Biomechanical Engineering Laboratory (LEBm), located on the premises of the University Hospital (HU) of UFSC, is configured as a multidisciplinary center for teaching, research and development in the area of health. Formed by professors from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Surgery at UFSC, the LEBm works in the design and evaluation of implants and surgical techniques in the areas of orthopedics and vascular surgery using numerical and experimental analysis techniques.
From the perspective of technological transfer from the engineering area to the healthcare area, the LEBm Research Lines reflect the permanent need to improve surgical techniques and the quality of implantable medical devices.
